On Friday, May 31st, 2013, Cinéma L’amour will be releasing their Debut Full Length Album, “Limitations.”
To celebrate the release, the band will be performing its 100th show.
You are cordially invited to join us at Brasserie Beaubien, 73 Rue Beaubien Est at 9 pm in Montréal. Cinéma L’amour will appear alongside the irrefutable Saxsyndrum and the as yet ungoogleable Loosestrife.

Recorded over the last 2 and a half years, “Limitations” is both tightly executed and occasionally unhinged. Encompassing an incalculable number of styles, influences, and sounds, the massively complex collection of compositions represents a summation of the band’s 4-year existence.
The 8 songs have been honed by years of touring, and here they are flushed out with horns, strings, bells, in addition to layers upon layers of guitars, drums and voices.
Live, the band is less about 2 people than it is about 8 limbs.
Easily inviting the octopus comparison on his own, drummer Chris Kavanagh commands his kit with unyielding ferocity and precision. Meanwhile Dorian Scheidt tap dances across an array of effects and looper pedals, pausing only occasionally to let loose with either his guitar or his lungs.
SAXSYNDRUM is a granular groove on a beach of beats by the pitch-shifted shores of lake delay.
LOOSESTRIFE craft as yet un-recorded duophonic delights
