This morning, I awoke to all kinds of email.
First, I received the wonderful news that we’ve finally re-booked a show in our wonderful home away from home, KW, Ontario. We’ll be playing on Canada Day (July 1st) at Millsy’s Billiards.
I’m going to play a lot of pool. It’s gonna be rad.
Second, I learned that All Ages concert space Comrad Sound in calgary has been shut down by the city. This was extremely disappointing for a number of reasons: as a Calgary AA scene veteran, I know how difficult it is to put on events, and I also know how important they can be. I’ve heard nothing but fabulous things about the people running Comrad, and Chris and I were seriously looking forward to playing there during our soon to be announced coast to coast tour this fall.
I seriously encourage everyone in calgary that cares about local independent music to get in touch with their Alderpeople and let them know that Comrad sound must survive!

I did 100’s of ALL AGES shows in the early 90’s. It was an uphill battle back then and I can’t believe we are still dealing with this issue.
Best of luck to Vanessa and everyone else at Comrad Sound. We’re standing with you!
